With members hailing from Marrowstone Island and Boise, Idaho, the Tree City Travelers
are coming to enliven our Island summer nights at the beginning of August.
Bring a picnic and a blanket, come on down to the big lawn at Marrowstone Vineyards,
relax and take in the summer evening and the show. There is no charge for enjoying the music.
Tree City Travelers' sound is a fusion of traditional bluegrass sounds and contemporary
influences. With their seamless three- four- and five-part harmonies and virtuosic
instrumentals, they deliver a captivating live experience that appeals to a wide range of
audiences. Their repertoire includes original compositions, carefully selected covers, and
reimagined classics, showcasing their versatility and dedication to pushing the boundaries
of the bluegrass genre.
The connection of this musical group to Marrowstone Island runs deep. Bassist and island
resident Pete Vanags has been making music on Marrowstone Island for over 40 years. He
performed over many summers with the Marrowstone Music Festival when it was held at the
Retreat center at Fort Flagler during the 1980s. He is happy to be bringing such outstanding
Northwest talent to perform for our island.
